Last week, The Hydr’Avatar team participated to the ESA Digital Twin Earth Component Open Science Meeting 2026 at ESRIN, Frascati.

A plenary session presentation of the project’s scientific background and advances and technical advancement status was performed during the main DTCs sessions. The icebreaker that followed the session, with a live show of the platform, was also a great opportunity to demonstrate the project advancement and meet all the people involved in the DTCs. We have now entered the last year of the project, and having interactions with the community is precious to confirm that our work achievements are in line with the objectives of the program.

The invited stakeholder from Medecins Sans Frontières attended the event and presented MSF’s point of view of the possible contributions of Hydr’Avatar and more broadly EO datasets to local and concrete operations on the field. Presentations can be found on event’s webpage here: https://nikal.eventsair.com/esa-digital-twin-earth-components-open-science-meeting-2026.

The sessions were really inspiring and permitted us to evidence the nice progression of the project and to highlight the consequent contributions that EO datasets can bring.  We enjoyed meeting everyone there and getting all this feedback about our work. Looking forward to continuing these discussions. A special thank you to MSF for their contribution and to ESA for this event organization and their renewed trust in Hydr’Avatar project!
